Overnights in Valencia
Meals included: Breakfast

An undoubted highlight of the trip is a private excursion to La Tomatina on day three. After settling in to the good life in Valencia, it’s time for something completely different – a private day excursion to La Tomatina in the village of Bũnol. What started as a disagreement between locals in 1945 has now become a 40,000-strong food fight of epic proportions. You’ll be taken to the village by private transfer, with tickets at the ready to join the proceedings for the hour-long splatting. Afterwards, your guide will show you the best places in the village to join the party that ensues. Get set for an unforgettable day, before your private transfer back to Valencia.

Aside from visiting La Tomatina, we’ve made this break as flexible as possible – so you have the perfect summer holiday whether you like beach bathing, restaurant hopping, serious sightseeing or all three! To help you get acquainted with the city, we’ve devised some fabulous optional activities, all bookable in advance using our Extras tab. Choose from three of our favourite things to do in Valencia:
PEDAL POWER
Saddle up for a private cycle tour that takes in the city’s must-see sights, as well as offering a glimpse of authentic local life. Following part of a Formula One circuit, you’ll whizz past the seaside and bloom-packed Flower Bridge. Pedal through the Turia Gardens and visit the local market, passing ancient ruins and grand Gothic architecture along the way. Next, you’ll get a fantastic city vista from the best viewpoint in town, before breaking in a quiet piazza. Finally, take in Santiago Calatrava’s incredible space-age architecture at the City of Arts and Sciences (for related costs and to book, please see the Extras tab).

BEST FOOT FORWARD
For those who would rather see the city by foot, we have a private walking tour that takes in the best of Valencia. Starting on the vast city beach of Malvarrosa, you’ll visit the Americas Cup port, built for the event in 2007, and Santiago Calatrava’s futuristic City of Arts and Sciences. Heading into the city centre, you’ll see some of Valencia’s most famous sights, including the Colon Market, Silk Exchange, bull ring and town hall, then you’ll make for the buzzy Mercado Central where shoppers stock up on fruit, vegetables and fresh fish and meat. Continue on to the Plaza Redonda and the amazing city view from the Cathedral, before finishing up at the Plaza de la Virgin (for related costs and to book, please see the Extras tab).

SUNSET BY BOAT
The sea is a huge part of Valencia’s charm, and on this private sunset cruise, you’ll see the shore from a private catamaran just as the sun disappears behind the mountains. Departing from the port, you’ll cruise past the city beaches and see the lights twinkle on in the city as you enjoy snacks and sip on ‘Agua de Valencia’ (a local cocktail). Afterwards, dock at the port for dinner on a restaurant terrace at Playa de las Arenas, for a night to remember with spectacular views and a three-course dinner (for related costs and to book, please see the Extras tab).

As your 4 days of fun and festivities draws to a close, your private driver will collect you from your hotel and take you back to the Valencia airport, ready for your flight home.
