Summary

India

Find peace in the foothills of the Himalayas with a soothing stay at the world famous Ananda spa retreat. Your personalised programme of treatments is based on a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, and you’ll also have the chance to witness the spectacular Ganga Aarti ceremony on the banks of the sacred River Ganges. If you're looking for a total reset, there's nowhere better than this restful hideaway, one of the best places in the world to relax and indulge in rejuvenating treatments.

AWESOME ELEMENTS INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE:

  • Map out a long term plan for health and happiness, created with Ananda’s expert doctors, yoga teachers and spa therapists
  • Feel the tension melt away with the resort's incredible spa treatments (some of which are included in the cost of your experience)
  • Experience the spellbinding sunset ceremony of aarti, on the banks of the River Ganges
  • Trek to a mountain-top temple and breathe in the magnificent views of snow-dusted Himalayan peaks

We've kept this experience as flexible as possible, so that you can work alongside Ananda's experts to tailor a wellness programme that's perfect for you. Each morning you’ll awake to a specially selected tea with fresh fruit, and you’ll spend your days finding focus with activities including yoga, meditation and cookery classes. Your stay includes one session each of Reiki, Thai massage, aromatherapy massage and reflexology, and you’ll also have access to the fantastic hydrotherapy circuit at the spa.

The undoubted highlight of this holiday has to be the magical Ganga Aarti ceremony in nearby Rishikesh. Here, at the Parmath Niketan Ashram on the banks of the River Ganges, saffron-robed devotees chant and the smell of incense fills the air, in an ancient sunset ritual that gives thanks to the sacred river. For a different perspective on this beautiful region there is also the option to hike to the lofty Kanjapuri temple, with breathtaking views of Rishikesh and the Himalayas, or you can feel the awesome power of the upper Ganges on a high-octane white water rafting adventure.
