Summary2

Once home to the Hanseatic League and an important trading post, Norway’s second city nevertheless retains a blissful peacefulness influenced by the surrounding mountains and fjords. Our holiday combines private guided tours with self-guided adventure, allowing you to make the most of the city and its surrounds as you wander the streets with a private guide, take the funicular high above the buildings towards stunning vistas, and boat trip across some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. There’s also the option to venture even further into Norway’s incredible scenery, with a rail ride through undiscovered countryside, followed by further boat rides into the Aurlandsfjord.

Fall in love with this perfectly positioned city during a morning’s private walking tour. Surrounded by seven mountains, it’s home to the historical Hanseatic Wharf and the lively fish market, both of which you’ll see on your travels. Come afternoon, enjoy a self-guided trip on the Floibanen Funicular, which trundles high above the city for jaw-dropping views of the city and surrounding fjords.

Afterwards, there’s the option to get further into the fjords on a trip aboard the Flam railway, a 20km track that runs through some of Norway’s most remarkable scenery.
